Nurse Externship Program
Set yourself up for success before graduation with our Nurse Externship Program, which is designed for nursing students enrolled in accredited ADN or BSN programs.
Here is everything you need to know:
- Early, real-world experience. You’ll practice and refine your nursing skills while working with actual patients in our hospitals under the supervision of experienced professionals.
- Earn while you learn. Gain part-time employment as a nurse extern, performing clinical tasks (minimum of 36 hours every six weeks required). As a bonus, nurse externs receive a $500 monthly stipend to help with school expenses.
- Grow with your peers. Join a cohort of fellow nursing students, attend training sessions and build a supportive network.
- Smooth transition to RN. After graduation and licensure, externs get priority consideration for full-time RN roles with a guaranteed night-shift Acute Care position (unless an alternate offer is made).
Eligibility requirements for the Nurse Externship Program include:
- Enrolled in an accredited ADN or BSN program
- Completion of at least one clinical rotation
- Current BLS certification (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Submission of an online application
